Leather Necklace
A small, sculptural leather necklace created for the University of Moratuwa. Hand-carved patterns, wet-molded vegetable-tanned leather, then hand-dyed after molding for depth and warmth.

The story
This piece began as a simple brief from the University of Moratuwa: a small necklace that felt both crafted and contemporary. I sketched a circular form in sections, then carved a subtle geometric pattern by hand. Each segment was wet-molded over forms to create gentle volume, dried, and finally hand-dyed to bring out the relief and grain. The result is light on the body, but rich in detail—an object that reads like miniature architecture.
